Thank you so much for your comments. After much prayer and debate, we have decided to homeschool both of our kids next year. I am really excited about it now, too. I do believe that this is what God wants for our family, and it just feels right to us. It is hard to ignore what other people think, but you are right that I have to trust myself because I know my children better than anyone else I know. Thanks for your encouragement!

Sorry, I should have mentioned that if that means sending your kids to school instead of homeschooling, do that. Whatever's right for your family. Either way, don't worry about what other people think.

A few years ago I was debating this too, as my son was entering 1st grade and I wasn't sure if I should keep homeschooling.

I was talking to a woman who homeschooled (really, unschooled) her six kids who are now grown - and all very accomplished and successful - and she told me to trust myself because I knew my kids and my family best.

That was it for me - from that moment on, I've done what I felt was right for us and not listened to outside voices. No more doubting or wondering. It's fantastic.
